The produce found in these markets is delicious, and I can t wait. Some of the best Farmers Markets are right here in Ocean County. They all pretty much start opening up for the season in the next couple of months. Tis the season for the best fresh fruit and veggies here at the Shore.

LAKEWOOD, New Jersey (WABC) A massive brush fire engulfed a large area of New Jersey s Ocean County, damaging dozens of homes and forcing evacuations.
A firefighter with the New Jersey Forest Fire Service was injured Sunday and remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The Garden State Parkway near Brick Township was shut down for hours and is back open, but officials say the fire will continue to burn and smolder in interior areas east of the Parkway, south of Cedar Bridge Avenue, and north of Route 70.
All evacuees have been permitted to return home.

Police said Robin Federbush, 49, of Brick was turning left in a Hyundai Elantra from Spiral Drive to Burnt Tavern Road when she hit Christos Michael, 59, of Point Pleasant, who had the right of way at the time, and was then thrown from his Bourget Custom Motorcycle.
Michael died from his injuries at the scene of the crash from lower body and internal injuries.
The Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene to investigate the crash.
Vehicule traffic on Burnt Tavern Road northbound and southbound was detoured around the crash scene for about five hours, police said, during the investigation.
A Brick man who was practicing some deep breathing techniques said he may have blacked out prior to crossing the double yellow lines and striking another car at the intersection of Hooper Avenue and Washington Street Saturday afternoon, around 4:55 pm.

Toms River Police said Thomas P. Zimmerman, 19, was heading in the left lane southbound on Hooper Avenue at the time of the crash.
A rear passenger in the Toyota Zimmerman hit sustained severe head trauma and was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center.
The driver and another passenger in the Toyota were also transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center via ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.
